The Herald Palladium carried an obituary for Julius Albert Hauch on 20 Sep 1994 and it reads: “J. Albert Hauch The funeral for J. Albert 'Al' Hauch, 78, of St. Joseph, who died Sunday, will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Church, St. Joseph, of which he was a member. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kerley & Starks Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the church. Mr. Hauch was born July 1, 1916, in Baroda. He was formerly accounts payable supervisor at Whirlpool’s administration center, from which he retired in 1980 after 38 years, beginning employment with the 1900 Corporation, Whirlpool’s predecessor, in 1942. He was a member of the Whirlpool Old Timers Club and Whirlpool Management Club. Survivors include: his wife, the formerly Dorothy Pagel, whom he married April 15, 1944; a daughter, Vickie Phillipson of Dowagiac; a son, David Hauch of Afton, Minn.; two grandchildren; a sister, Lydia Rudlaff of Berrien Springs; and a brother, Martin Hauch of Houghton Lake, Mich.”
