The Herald Palladium carried an obituary for Lydia Rudlaff on 04 Nov 1999 and it reads: “Berrien Springs – Lydia Rudalff, 89, of Berrien Springs, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Berrien Springs, with the Rev. Lyle Fritsch officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rudlaff was born Jan. 11, 1910, in Bridgman, to Fred and Anna (Tiefenbach) Hauch. She married Adolph Rudlaff on June 15, 1929, in Berrien Springs. Lydia and her husband enjoyed farming for many years, many of them spent in Wisconsin. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizen Center. She is survived by many devoted members of the Hauch and Rudlaff families. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 19, 1985; four brothers – Adolph, August, Martin and J. Albert Hauch; and three sisters – Elsie Backus, Martha Kuyat and Hattie Grau.”
