Marguerite was born in Hackensack, NJ to Rein Reitsma and Antje (Annie) Anema. Her siblings were John Reitsma b. Sept 22, 1894; Henry Reitsma b. June 14, 1897; Helen Reitsma (m.1st Rausenberger, m. 2nd Bang); Rein Reitsma Jr. b. Feb 10, 1903.
Marguerite met Harold Maynard Brown (from Lawrence, MA) in New Jersey and married him Dec. 1, 1922. They had 2 children, Marjorie Hazel Brown b. Oct 11, 1923 and Harold Maynard Brown Jr. b. March 2, 1927. After their children were grown they moved first to New Mexico and then to San Diego. She was a homemaker her entire life.
