Signe Dorthea Anderson was born 13 Oct 1899 at Perley, MN. She was the fourth of nine children born to parents John R. (John Jens Christian) Anderson and Martha Sjursdatter Mjolsness Anderson.

Signe married Floyd Llewellyn Garrett at Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, MN 3 May 1922. Witnesses to their marriage were her siblings, Joseph M. Anderson and Dina Anderson. They lived on a farm near Grandin, ND.

Floyd L. Garrett was born near Grandin, ND 15 Nov 1894 to John and Nona E. Andrews Garrett. John was born in March 1858 in English Canada and Nona was born Sept 1871 in North Dakota. Floyd had four siblings as follows: Hallie Byron born ND and died 9 Mar 1974 (Rollina Sather 2 Nov 1904 – Aug 1975), Vernie John "Jack" 1 Jul 1896 - ? (Florence I. Colwell 4 Sep 1901 – Jun 1981) and one unknown sister.

Floyd served in the US Army. He was inducted 24 Jan 1918 at Fargo, ND. He served in Company A, 318th Field Signal Battalion in WWI. He served as a chauffeur and was overseas from July 14, 1918 until March 22, 1919. He was discharged at Camp Dodge, IA on April 1, 1919.

Floyd worked as a mechanic. They became the parents of one son, Marley J. 8 Mar 1927 – 7 May 1943.

Signe passed away on 14 Jan 1943. Her funeral was held at the Bethania Lutheran Church on January 16, 1943. Her cause of death was cancer.

Floyd next married Kalma Vinje Otto 21 Aug 1944 in Clay County, MN. She was born 10 Jan 1908 and passed away 26 Dec 1994. Floyd passed away 3 Dec 1974 and is buried with Kalma at the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. They are in section T, Site 2376.
