The oldest son of William Blackport, Peter at the age of 20 left for America . He arrived at Ellis Island New York in January 1893 on the ship Maasdam.
He was married to Gertrude LaGrand in July 1900 in Grand Rapids, Mi. They raised six chidren,lived at 887 Caulfield Avenue, and were members of the Franklin Street Christian Reformed Church.
1918-Occupation is a finisher at Zeuce Furniture Company on Godfrey Ave., and later he worked for the John Widdicomb Furniture Company, as a polisher.
