Obituary, Rolla Herald, Feb 11, 1915:
Martha Jane Love Miller - She was born January 7, 1843 at Lois, Missouri. She was united in marriage with George H. Miller, November 19, 1854. To this union fourteen children were born, seven sons and seven daughters, two of whom died in infancy. Deceased was a member of the Christian Church since the year 1864. She enjoyed perfect health until the last few years and was never under the care of a doctor from the time of her marriage until her recent illness from pneumonia and on Friday at 1:30 p.m., February 5, 1915, she quietly passed away at her home, being at the time of her death 72 years and 29 days old. Sunday, February 7, 1915, at 11 a.m. funeral services were held from Spring Creek Baptist Church after which she was laid to rest in the cemetery.

She leaves to mourn her loss an aged companion, twelve children: Mrs. Anna Davis, Mrs. T.R. Followill, Mrs. W.E. Wynn, Mrs. F.C. Gray, John Miller, Mrs. W.H. Wynn, Mrs. John Parker, Mrs. John Jackson, Robert, Ralph, Bland and Lloyd Miller, also one sister, Mrs. T.D. Miller, a brother, John Love of Vichy, fifty-one grand chlldren and twelve great grandchildren.

"Martha Jane Love, daughter of John, married George, son of Martin Miller, and early settled on Spring Creek in present Phelps County. Like the Love place, the Miller home was at one time a part of Maries County. They lived on Lanes Prairie a number of years and later moved to Spring Creek just over in Phelps County, where they lived most of their married lives and where Mrs. Miller died something like twenty-five years ago. Mr. Miller moved to Maries County after her death and later married Ellen, widow of Joseph Copeland, nee Hutchison. They lived on Dry Creek until his death a few years ago at ninety-four. His second wife survives.

Fourteen children were born of the marriage of Martha Jane Love and George Miller, of whom nine are still living. They are: Rosa E., widow of Riley Followill who owns and spends some of her time on the old Martin Miller place on Spring Creek, but mostly makes her home at Rolla; Ida, wife of Richard Wynn, and Lucy, wife of Fitch Gray, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Electa, widow of Harvey Wynn and later of J. M. Given, lives in St. Louis; Edna Cordelia, widow of Ellie Noblett and now wife of John F. Parker, lives on Dry Creek in this county; Bland who married Pearl Dunnivin, daughter of Mrs. L. M. Ramsey on February 12, 1908, lives at the Bell Ford in Phelps County; Loyd in Oklahoma; Robert at Rolla; and Ralph in this county.

Anna Elizabeth Miller, the oldest child of George and Martha Jane Miller, was born September 13, 1861, and taught several terms of school in this and Phelps County prior to her marriage to J. T. Davis. She died May 6 1935, the day after her late husband. They were survived by their four children: Christy who lives on Dry Creek; Edmund in Phelps County; Pearl, wife of Glen Ramsey of this county; and Edna, wife of Joseph Parker of Grove, Oklahoma. Lois Miller married John Jackson and lived and died on Spring Creek, where two of her seven children, Loyd and Lucy, still live; George lives in Iowa; the other four, Hubert, John, Charles, and Adolphus, live mostly in Oklahoma. John Miller, the deceased son of George and Martha Jane Miller, married Dora Sauls, nee Bell, and was the father of three children, of whom Robert lives in St, Louis and Ruby in Rolla; Oakley, the third child, is dead, leaving a daughter, Lorene, who is married and lives in St. Louis. The other two children born to George and Martha Jean [Jane] Miller died in infancy".
