Son of Samuel and Eliza (Orr) Wark. He lived in Corinth, NY, for more than 60 years. He was a dentist there from 1899 to 1936, earning his degree from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery in Philadelphia. He was also president of the Board of Managers of the Homestead Sanatorium, president of the board of directors of Corinth Hospital, a member of the Village Board of Trustees, the Board of Education and the First Presbyterian Church. He married (1) Edith Taylor about 1900, and (2) Maude Morton in 1940.
