STONY CREEK - Clarissa M. Baker, of Harrisburg Road, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born Aug. 7, 1925, in Forest, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Woodward) Davis.
Clarissa graduated from Forest Jackson High School in Ohio in 1943.
She married Earl A. Baker on Oct. 15, 1946, in Corinth and the couple resided in Stony Creek for many years. He died June 13, 1996, following 49 years of marriage.
Clarissa was first employed at the Lazy J. Dude Ranch in Stony Creek for three summers. She then served as post master of the Stony Creek Post Office for 25 years, until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of the Corinth Wesleyan Church and the Stony Creek Wesleyan Church. She also was a member of the Auxiliary of the William J. Varney American Legion No. 862 of Lake Luzerne, the Stony Creek Chamber of Commerce and the Corinth Grange.
Clarissa enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and crocheting.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Frances Frisch.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Corinth Rural Cemetery at a date to be announced.
The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to the Stony Creek Fire Company, P.O. Box 38, Stony Creek, NY 12878.
Arrangements are under the direction of Densmore Funeral Home Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth.
