Was sick a long time; Burial made in Cedar Chapel
A long illness with dropsy ended in the death at 1:05 o'clock Monday morning of Mrs. Lydia Shutt, wife of Marlon Shutt, at her home In Butler township five and a quarter miles southwest of Garrett.
Mrs. Shutt had been in Ill health for two or three years and had grown worse since last February.
A daughter of Milton Carnahan, Mrs Shutt was born in Butler township seven miles south of Garrett on April 21, 1876, making her forty years, six months and fifteen days of age.
She was married on April 30, 1891, to Mr. Shutt and of three children two survive: Samuel Shutt, two and a half miles southeast of Garrett, and Mrs Emma Tarlton, near Churubusco. There are three grandchildren. Mrs. Shutt Is also survived by her father, her stepmother, a brother, Orange Carnahan, three and a half miles northwest of Spencerville; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Miller, five miles southeast of Garrett, and a half brother, Omer Carnahan, at home.
Brief services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, followed by services at Cedar Chapel, the Rev. Stella of Huntertown officiating.. Interment in the adjacent cemetery.
