Annette "Honey" Thornton, 76 years, of Maumee, passed away early Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Northwest Ohio Hospice Center, Perrysburg. Born to Floyd and Jeannette Thornton, Honey was raised in Perrysburg and worked many years in customer service at Toledo Edison retiring in the early 1990s. She then worked several years as a Home Health Aid through the Swan Creek Retirement Village. Honey, a loyal patron of Toledo Raceway, watched horse races weekly with her sister, Joanne as well as making several trips each year to Keeneland Park in Lexington, KY with Joanne and niece, Maggie Iannone. Looking after her beloved cats, and keeping a beautiful garden were some of her favorite past times. She is survived by her sister, Joanne Grossmann; brothers, Tom and Rick Thornton; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Fred W. Grossmann Jr. Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. followed by services at 2 p.m. Interment Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. Memorials may take the form of a contribution to Humane Ohio, Tremainsville Road, Toledo OH 43613.
