SERVICES HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON FOR ALBERT DEWHURST

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Holt Chapel for Albert Dewhurst, 74, who passed away Saturday, November 11 at seven o'clock in a Canon City hospital where he had been sick for the past six months.

Mr. Dewhurst had been a resident of Fremont county for 42 years. He was born in Ohio on February 3, 1870; moved to Wyoming and then to Colorado in 1899, and to Fremont County in 1902, settling in Rockvale. He was a coal miner for many years previous to his retirement.

He was married on June 29, 1904 to Jane Smith, by whom he is survived, as well as by eight children: Dewey of Bell, California, Pfc. George Dewhurst of the U. S. Army in New Guinea, Albert of the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific, Carl and Harry of Rockvale, Mrs. Annabel Saindon of Rockvale and Nellie Frank of Pueblo; and by five grandchildren.

The Rev. Tom Franks officiated at the funeral services, which were attended by a number of close friends and relatives. The Holt quartette sang "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Old Rugged Cross."

Burial was in Union-Highland cemetery, and pall bearers, were Robert Angel, William Angel, Victor C. Cristelli, Francis Micheli, Dave Scollick and George Epperson.
