Mardell was a member of the Rainbow Connection and she enjoyed doing word search puzzles. Surviving are: mother, Violet Harbin of Lowell; father, Donald John VanderMeer of Grand Rapids; sister, Shirley MumPower and husband Sherman, half sisters, Kathleen ViVeen of FL and Vernetta Harbin of Grand Rapids; half brother, Frederick VanderMeer of Grand Rapids,; 7 nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles; and many special friends from the Genessee County Community Mental Health Deaf Sevices and Rainbow Connection.
