Sylvia Grace Hardin Pittman, age 27, Gerald Pittman, age 29, and Jarod Pittman, age 5 of Florida, went home together to be with the Lord Sunday, November 29, 2009 following a car crash in Florida. Sylvia, Gerald, and Jarod were the daughter, son-in-law, and grandson of Jerry "Tiny" Hardin, 2126 Forsyth Dr., Elizabethton and Teresa Ann Bailey Hardin, 111 Hughes Rd., Apt. #4, Elizabethton. Sylvia Grace Hardin Pittman of Ruskin, FL was a native of Carter County and had been active in Glory Bound Church. She enjoyed fishing, golfing and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Hubert and Gracie Bailey and paternal grandparents: Alvin Eugene and Sylvia Hardin. Sylvia is survived by her parents, two sisters: Rachel Dupkoski and fiancé Brandon Winstead, Elizabethton, Stephanie and Bradley Sheets, Roan Mountain, one nephew: Elijah Dupkoski, Elizabethton, two nieces: Jayden Dupkoski, Elizabethton, Jolene Sheets, Roan Mountain, uncles: Lewin "Pen" Hampton and wife Jerry, Elizabethton, Silas "Kibe" Hampton, and wife Nancy, Roanoke, VA, Bill Chambers and wife Mary, Limestone, TN, Al Gordon and wife Sue, Elizabethton and special cousin Penny Hampton, Elizabethton. Several other family members also survive. The Celebration of Life service for Sylvia, Gerald and Jarod Pittman will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 13th in the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Pastor Ronnie Reece and Rev. Tim Tapp officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of Jerry "Tiny" Hardin at other times. The graveside service and interment for Sylvia Pittman will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 14th in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Everyone is welcome to meet the family at 1:15 p.m. Monday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Johnny Chambers, Jacob Force, Jeremy Odette, Jason Odette, Phillip Carpenter, Patrick Carpenter and Wesley Largent.
