Ida Blandford Staples, 78, of 715 Kentucky Parkway, Owensboro, formerly of Detroit, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1993, at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. She was born in Daviess County and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. Her husband, Bernard Staples, died in 1968. Six brothers preceded her in death, Joseph Leonard Blandford in 1980, James A. Blandford in 1985, John E. ''Quill'' Blandford in 1978, Maloney Blandford in 1964, Henry Blandford in 1987 and Edward ''Pat'' Blandford in 1992.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Blandford of West Louisville; a sister, Louise Peterson of Lebanon, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Cathedral. Burial in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation from 2-8 p.m. today at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m.
