COUNTY MATRON DEATH VICTIM

Mrs. Callie Warden, 56, wife of D. Vinson Warden, died at the Poplarville Hospital Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete awaiting word from a son who is in the Army at Camp Claiborne, La.

Mrs. Warden was born in Pearl River County on Dec. 12, 1885, the daughter of J. R. and Elizabeth Spiers Davis. She was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church, where her body will be carried for burial.

Mrs. Warden is survived by six children of a former marriage to J. S. Cruthirds, who died of injuries received when an auto struck him in Gulfport in Dec. of 1941. Survivors include her husband, D. V. Warden; her children, James Cruthirds, Biloxi, William Cruthirds, Gulfport, Mrs. Ruby Hembry, Biloxi, Mrs. Hattie Richie, Biloxi, Mrs. Delma McIntosh, Gulfport, and Johnnie Cruthirds, Camp Claiborne, La; four brothers, Sam, W. A. and Thomas Davis, all of Poplarville and Nathaniel Davis of Hattiesburg; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Odom, Mrs. Lola Morrison, Mrs. Nancy Morrison and Mrs. Lorraine Odom, all of Poplarville.
