Adrian was born in De Soto, Wis., to the late Charles and Rose (Henderson) Whitney, the next to the youngest of four brothers. He graduated from high school in 1939 in Lansing, Iowa. Adrian entered the U.S. Army Air Force in 1941 and was discharged in 1945. In 1943, he married Eva Lee Hallman. They had three sons and moved to Waco in 1955. Adrian went to work for the Texas Highway Department as a surveyor and bridge inspector. In 1963, Adrian married Nancy Stepp Frazier of Eddy, Texas, and they had one son. Adrian loved the outdoors and was fond of nature and wild animals. He loved feeding squirrels and birds, working in the garden, and taking care of the yard. He also loved watching the Cowboys play, old westerns, and the Lawrance Welk Show. Adrian was a member of Bosqueville Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed the services and Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Lee in 1961; and his three brothers.
Adrian is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; his sons, Mitchell Charles and wife, Marcia, Marlyn Clifton and wife, Bonnie, Chris Randall and wife, Kim, and Robert Brian and wife, Diann; step-daughter, Carolyn Vinning; six grandsons; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and many other family members and numerous friends.
