John and Claudia McLain lost their son October 21, 1926 at the age of 2 years 6 months and 28 days in Harrisburg, Linn, Oregon, USA. He passed away at 4:00 a.m. of Pneumonia; caused by the Flu. His funeral service was held at Wright's undertaking parlor in Harrisburg, Oregon; Rev. J.S. Miller, Methodist Episcopal minister of Halsey officiating. His obituary was published in The Eugene Guard, Eugene, Oregon Saturday, October 23, 1926, Page 11, Cols. 6-7.
