Ephraim died February 4, 1926 in Mattoon, Coles, Illinois of Myocarditis (inflammation of heart muscle), Arteriosclerosis (hardening of the artery) and Diabeties. Her father was the son of George (b. Crawford County, Indiana) and Fannie Hayes (B. Cincinnati, Ohio) Thomas.

DEATH OF SON - VERNON MCLAIN

John and Claudia McLain lost their son October 21, 1926 at the age of 2 years 6 months and 28 days in Harrisburg, Linn, Oregon, USA. He passed away at 4:00 a.m. of Pneumonia; caused by the Flu. His funeral service was held at Wright's undertaking parlor in Harrisburg, Oregon; Rev. J.S. Miller, Methodist Episcopal minister of Halsey officiating. His obituary was published in The Eugene Guard, Eugene, Oregon Saturday, October 23, 1926, Page 11, Cols. 6-7.
