Julia Vann Arnold, 97, of 503 Plattenburg Street, Winchester, died July 9 in Methodist Hospital of Middle Tennessee.

A native of Lincoln County, she was born June 16, 1891 to Cy at Etta Langston Vann. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Services were held at 11 a.m. today (July 11) at the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Charles George and the Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Lou Dotson, Mrs. Myrtle Vannzandt, and Mrs. Beatrice Cindell, all of Adrian, Michigan; four sons, James F. Arnold of Flintville, Grover Arnold of Memphis, Robert Earl Arnold of Winchester, and Leon Arnold of Nashville; one half-sister, Mrs. Mattie Walker of Hazel Green, Alabama; 36 grandchildren, and 52 great-grandchildren.

Julia Vann Arnold, 97, died in Methodist Hospital in Winchester on July 9, 1988.

Funerial services were conducted on Monday in the Chapel of the Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles George and the Rev. Milton Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery.

A native of Lincoln County, Mrs. Arnold was the daughter of the late Cy Vann and Etta Langston Vann. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was the widow of Oscar Arnold, who died in 1965. Survivors include four sons, James P Arnold of Flintville, Grover Arnold of Memphis, Robert Earl Arnold of Winchester, and Leon Arnold of Nashville; three daughters, Mattie Lou Dodson, Myrtle Vanzandt and Beatrice Dindell all of Adrian Mich; a half-sister Mattie Walker of Hazel Green; 36 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.
