Mary Frances Biggs, 82, of rural Lerna, went to be with the Lord at 1:00 a.m. Monday, February 25th, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services in tribute to her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27th, at the Neoga Free Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve Massengill officiating. Burial will follow in the Todd Cemetery at Willow Hill. Visitation for family and friends will be held from Noon-2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Church. The Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mary was born March 17, 1925, in Mattoon, a daughter of Charles and Vera (Vaultonburg) Allen. She married Teddy Ray Biggs on March 18, 1945. He passed away July 3, 1996. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, one sister, one grandson, and a son-in-law.

Survivors include her eight children, Sharon A. McKibben, Claudia G. Hurst and husband Terry, Patti J. Anderson and husband Gale, Debbie J. Roy, and J. Colleen Ames and husband Don Jr., all of Lerna, Dorothy G. Davis and husband Tony of Fountain Hills, Arizona, John A. Biggs and wife Brenda of Humboldt, and Paul A. Biggs and wife Christine of Villa Hills, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, Michael McKibben of Lerna, Michelle Jean and husband Rob of Terre Haute, Indiana, Angie Deasey and husband Don of Fountain Hills, Cory Hurst of Janesville, Joe Hurst of Lerna, David Biggs and wife Brandy of Hindsboro, Chuck Biggs and wife Leslie, Jennifer Adkins and husband Cliff, and Scott Biggs, all of Erlanger, Kentucky, Chad Gillis and wife Michelle of Mattoon, Chris Gillis and wife Kelly of Lovington, Shannon Ames and fiancé Josh Wurtsbaugh, both of Mattoon, and Heather Ames of Charleston; three stepgrandchildren, Justin and James Jameson, and Maranda Welsh, all of Mattoon; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Mary was a retired physical therapist. She was a member of the Neoga Free Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and former member of Women of the Moose.
