MONTPELIER- Funeral services for Alfred Lewis Swa, 78, Montpelier, will be Saturday in the Montpelier Second Ward chapel. Mr. Swa died Tuesday of a heart attack.
He was born in Paris, France, Feb. 11, 1882. When a child he was brought by his mother, a convert to the LDS church from France to the United States where they settled in Bear Lake county.
An ardent sportsman, he worked for the state of Idaho as a trapper and during recent years was employed by the State Highway Department.
Mr. Swa and Minnie Pearl Watson were married Sept. 19, 1903 at Kaysville, Utah.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters and five sons. Mrs. George W. Bryan of Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Ray Homer, Montpelier; Mrs. Grant Sarver, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Robert LaMarr, Fort Collins, Colo.; Alfred E. Swa and Dewayne Swa, Montpelier, Lloyd Swa of Ogden, Donald Swa of Boise and Willard Swa of Montpelier. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
