Willard Swa, 70, of Montpelier, passed away at home, Wednesday morning Aug. 13, 1997.

He was born April 27, 1927 at Montpelier, the son of Alfred Louis and Minnie Watson Swa. He married Joyce Horsely, they were later divorced. He was a life-long resident of Montpelier and a heavy equipment operator for Washington Construction for many years. He was a member of the Montpelier Fifth LDS Ward. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Montpelier VFW Post 3884.

He is survived by three sons and their spouses, Kent and Sandy Swa of Green River, Kym and Tina Swa of Montpelier and Kurt Swa of Green River. Also three grandchildren; four brothers, Lloyd Swa of Englewood, Co., Alfred and DeWayne Swa both of Montpelier and Donald Swa of Boise and one sister, Delores Meridith of Fort Collins, Co.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, LaVonne, Anona, Irean and Hilma.

Cremation services were conducted Thursday, Aug. 14. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 18 at the Montpelier LDS Fifth Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery with Military Honors by the VFW Post 3884.
