He married Martha Ellen Bilger and fathered Harry E. (b. 08/05/73, d. 04/22/74), John Franklin (b. @1876), Walter G. (b. 11/04/78), and Paul W. (b. 08/06/81, d. 10/10/81). Martha's status is unknown, but he married Eliza Jane Harley in 1894. Cause of his death is listed as "senile dementia" with "arteriosclerosis" a contributing factor. His death certificate spells his first name and his mother's maiden name "Whitmer."
