MRS. MARY SHAW SUCCUMBS AT 83

Born in Austrian Tyrol; Was Resident of Joliet 80 Years.

INJURED BY FALL

Mrs Mary V. Shaw, 83 years old, resident of Joliet 80 years, died last night at St. Joseph's hospital from the effects of a broken hip suffered in a fall at her home, 103 Sterling avenue, a week ago last Tuesday.
Mrs. Shaw was born in Tyrol, Austria, and came to this country when she was 3 years old. She had resided in Joliet since that time. She was an honorary member of the Grand International auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

HAD 10 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN

The aged woman is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Morris and Mrs. Mattie Kruger; three sons, Fred, Frank and Claude; two brothers, Joseph and Martin Maesar; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken from the Sonntag funeral home to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris, at 2307 Cass street, where funeral servies will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with the Rev. A.W. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
