LOUIS POMMIER
An attorney and the oldest member of a St. Anne family which now totals more than 180 members, Louis J.M. Pommier, 88, died Sunday morning at the Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home, Clifton.
Pommier was the oldest of the 12 children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pommier. He was born Feb. 27, 1889, in St. Anne. He attended St. Viator's College and graduated from Loyola Law School.
For 30 years he was the attorney for the Chicago Title and Trust Co. and then was secretary of the DuPage Title ad Trust Co. for a number of years.
He was a founding member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Lombard; a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society, Lombard, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Wheaton.
A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Sacred Heart church, Lombard. Pommier's son, the Rev. James Pommier, was celebrant of the con-celebrated mass.
On Aug. 4, 1913, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bradley, he was married to the former Kathern M. Mulligan, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include, in addition to the Rev. Pommier of St. Leonard's Church, Berwyn; a son, Daniel of Kentucky; daughters Olive Ross of Florida, Mary Madeline Kufer and DesNeiges Krisch, both of Lombard; brothers Lionel of St. George, Joseph of St. Anne and Nathaniel of Kankakee; sisters, Sister Mary Fidelis of Urbana, Victorine Francoeur of Kankakee, Mary Lafond of Beaverville, Angelina Nelson of Momence; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dr. H.R. Pommier and Brother Fidelis Pommier, brothers, and Sister Clarissa Pommier and Sister Mary Isabel, sisters, also preceded Pommier in death.
Burial was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Arrangements here were completed by the Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
