He was born in Drachov, Czech. (south of Sobeslav) He emmigrated to the United States in 1861. The 1900 Census lists his occupation as a clerk in a dry goods store. It also showed them having 8 children. He could read, write and speak English. The 1930 Census shows him as widower (Agnes passed away in 1924),and living with son George Mach. He passed away in 1937.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Joseph Mach:

Frank and Agnes (Doktor) Mach were married in October of 1875 at New Prague, MN. Frank Mach was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Mach and he had 1 brother, Thomas. Agnes was the daughter of Thomas and Anna Doktor. Her father was a Civil War veteran and she had 1 brother, John. Following their marriage they lived on a farm west of Montgomery, MN, until 1881. Then they moved to the city of Montgomery, MN, where Mr. Mach worked in the Sheehy Store. In 1912 they returned to the farm to reside until they held their auction sale in 1920. After Frank and Agnes Mach sold their farm east of Montgomery, MN, in the fall of 1920, they moved to Lonsdale, MN, in Rice County, where they were engaged in the business of operating a confectionery store on Main Street. For a time both of their sons, George F. and Eugene L., assisted them in the store. She died on May 1, 1924, and was buried from the Immaculate Conception Church in Lonsdale, MN. Internment was at the Calvary Cemetery at Montgomery, MN. He died on December 29, 1937, at the home of his son, George F., who was then residing on a farm between Waterville, MN, and Morristown, MN, in Rice County. His funeral mass was at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville, MN, and he, too, was buried at the Calvary Cemetery at Montgomery, MN. Mr. and Mrs. Mach had 10 children born to them. There were 6 daughters and 4 sons. Those who are still living are George F. Mach, Faribault, MN; Eugene L. Mach, Rochester, MN; Mrs. Antionette Soboy, St. Paul, MN; and Mrs. Edward (Elizabeth) Hammargren, Kilkenny, MN.
