Funeral services for Harrison Francis Upshaw, Jr., age 79, were held Saturday, August 29 at Prospect Methodist Church with Rev. Grady Bailey and Rev. Howard Hathorn officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Upshaw died Thursday, August 27 at Okolona Community Hospital.

The son of the late Harrison Francis Upshaw and the late Elizabeth Francis, he was the retired owner of Houston Feed Mill and Happy Feed Mills in Memphis. He was past president of Houston Exchange Club, past president of Chickasaw Development Foundation, president of Board of Trustees of Houston Hospital for 20 years, past president of Mississippi Feed Association, Charter Member of Houston Country Club, Colonel on Governor J P Coleman Staff. He was a graduate of Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia and was a member of Prospect Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Holleman Upshaw of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Joy Murphy of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; two sons, Harrison Upshaw III of Houston and John Upshaw of Oxford; two sisters, Mrs. Roberta Barnett of Atlanta and Mrs. Eula Miller of Coral Gables, Florida; one brother, Lewis Upshaw of Jackson and seven grandchildren.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
