Maurine is the daughter of Henry A. and Bertha Moberly Wick. She grew up in Lester and graduated from Lester High School in 1923. She received a teaching certificate from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. She returned to Lyon County and taught country school in the Lester and Alvord, Iowa, areas. She married Gustav Zornig on March 5, 1927, in Sioux City. They had five children. He died May 10, 1956. She married Harry Stuerman on June 18, 1962, in Sioux Falls. He died July 20, 1970. She married Otto Haegele on Nov. 22, 1974, in Lester. He Died Jan 21 1994. Maurine was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served as church treasurer for more than 30 years; a member of the Daughters of the Nile in Sioux Falls; and member of the Legion Auxillary in Lester. Maurine died at the age of 90. Maurine is buried next to her 2nd husband Harry L. Stuerman.
