Keever was born at Wapello IA, on May 1, 1865, the son of John and Martha May (Smith) Keever. He lived for many years in the Wapello area before moving to Gladstone 30 years ago.
Keever was married to Sarah Maria Spiker on September 19, 1882. She survives, as do 5 sons and 2 daughters. William, Martin, George, and Ralph Keever and Mrs. Martha Mae Patton all of Gladstone, ILL. Charles Keever, Middleton, Ill. and Mrs. Jennnie Mason of Rockford, Ill.
Also surviving are 32 grandchlidren, 46 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Four children died previously.
Last rites will be held at the Methodist Church of which Keever was a member, at 2 P.M. Sunday.
The Rev. Lester L. Earp will officiate, and burial will be in the Mallory Cemetery, near Toolesboro, Iowa.
