PIONEER WHO CAME WEST IN '64 IS DEAD
Mrs. Elizabeth Vincent Goodman, 92-year-old pioneer resident of the Walla Walla valley who crossed the plains in 1864, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Mrs. Goodman was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Vincent, born Feb. 12, 1859 in Missouri and made the trek from the mid-west state with her parents. Settling in the Walla Walla valley, she had since made this her home.
Mrs. Goodman was a charter member of Walla Walla's First Church of Christ, Scientist.
Survivors include a son, Virgil Goodman of Walla Walla, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Goodman's home was at 11 (*see note below) East Sumach Street.
Arrangements are being made for funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from a local chapel with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
