MARTIN SHUCK DEAD.
Martin Philip Shuck died at the home of his sister, Mrs. William Fees, 111 Exchange Street, about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Influenza followed by dropsy
caused his death.

Mr. Shuck had been sick three weeks. He was born in Davis County, Iowa, November 27, 186O. He came to Kansas in 1884, settling at Larned. Later he went to Lyons and came to Emporia in 1891 from Lyons. He was married to Junia Hartle in 1888. Mrs. Shuck died in Emporia about 12 years ago.

Mr. Shuck is survived by a son, Frank Shuck, of Chase: four sisters,Mrs. Sally Dudley, Mrs.Laura Houseley, and Mrs. William Fees, all of Emporia, and Mrs. Nancy Paris, of Frazier, Iowa. A brother,Samuel Shuck, lives in Emporia.

Mr. Shuck was a member of the Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30' o'clock at the Christian Church. Rev.Cecil Franklin,pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Hunt Cemetery, five miles east of Emporia.
