The Death of Mrs. Shuck: Mrs. Martin J. Shuck, who died Saturday, was born seventy-two years ago in Kentucky. Her maiden name was Benge and she was married in 1844.
She had fourteen children, five of whom have preceded their mother to the better land. Those living are Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs. Sallie Dudley,Mrs. Laura Housley, Mrs. Ella Fuse, Henry C. and Phillip M.,and Samuel Shuck, the youngest child, all of this town, and Mrs. Nancy Paris of Bunch, and Elizabeth Paris of Oklahoma.
Mrs. Shuck had suffered with cancer for more than a year.
At the age of 14 years she was converted and joined the Christian church. She was a devoted wife and an affectionate mother and as such has passed to her reward.
The husband who is left, is 82 years old and to him this dispensation of Providence falls heavily. Four generations are represented in Mother Shuck's family; fifty-four grandchildren and forty great grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Fuse, 302 South Exchange, where Mrs. Shuck died. The interment was made in Hunt Cemetery.
For the ease of anyone searching for this grave could you please note the grave is in the "Hunt" cemetery which is to the south of Fowler Cemetery. Hunt Cemetery has a sign. This particular grave is to the east side of Hunt Cemetery about middle away between the north and south borders.
