Amos L. Black, 72, retired yard conductor for the New York Central Railroad, died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home in Scarsdale, New York.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Meeks Mortuary, with burial in Black Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Black retired a few years ago after more than 40 years with New York Central. He was a native of this county and spent most of his life here.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie Stover Black; a daughter, Mrs. Judi Witty of New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Smith and Mrs.Christine Stafford, both of Delaware County, and a brother, Eugene Black of Florida.
