Joseph's real mom's name is Catherine T (Moore) Stevens. All of the records except his birth record show that Millicent "Mille" (Chase) Stevens is his mom. Joseph's moms find a grave is Catherine T Moore Stevens Please take the time to stop by his moms memorial.

PVT. STEVENS DIES IN CAMP.

Pneumonia Fatal to Soldier at Camp Upton.

With only a few days remaining before he would receive his honorable discharge from the service Pvt. Joseph Thomas Stevens died today at Camp Upton of Pneumonia. He is the son of Mr.and Mrs. Ernest Stevens of Straitsville and spent a short furlough with them on week ago last Sunday. He had been ill for a few days only and his father was notified last evening that his condition was critical. A message was received today announcing his death. Pvt. Stevens was a camp carpenter in the second company of the 152nd Brigade. He went to Camp Upton May 23, 1918. He was a member of the Continental lodge I.O.O.F of Naugatuck. A special meeting of the lodge will be held Tomorrow evening at 7:30 o'clock to make arrangements to attend the funeral. He leaves behind his parents and his siblings.
