Pfc. Messere Funeral Set


A military funeral will be held Thursday for Pfc. Frank Messere of Solvay, who was killed in action Feb. 25 1945, in France. The body arrived in Syracuse today from the Schenectady distribution center. A solemn high mass of requiem will be celebrated in St. Cecilia's Church, Solvay, at 9:30 a.m. after services at 8:45 a.m. in the Bagozzi twins funeral home. Geddes Post, Veterans of World War II, will hold military rites in Assumption Cemetery. Pfc. Messere was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Messere 0f 103 Sixth st., Solvay. A former pupil at Solvay High School, he enlisted Jan. 26, 1942, and trained at Fort Eustis, Va. He served in North Africa, Italy and France. Besides his parents, survivors are four brothers, S/Sgt. Jack Messere of Bergstrom Field, Tex.; Dominick, Angelo and Rocco of Solvay; two sisters, Misses Rose and Marie Messere of Solvay. Friends may call from 6 to 10 p.m. today and tomorrow.
