John Willie DeSpain, age about 90 years, died Tuesday morning at his home near Mt. Sherman. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lissie DeSpain; 7 sons, Sam, Tom, and Lee DeSpain, of Papul, IL; Ernest DeSpain, Creal, KY; Alfred DeSpain, Mt. Sherman, and Luther Herman DeSpain, of Buffalo; 4 brothers, Carl DeSpain, Mt. Sherman; Tom DeSpain, Dayton, OH; Lonnie DeSpain, Little Rock, AR, and Zelk DeSpain, Springfield, IL; 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
