Estherville – Services for LeRoy Schenck, 76, of Estherville will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. David Wendel officiating. Interment will be held at the East Side Cemetery in Estherville. He died Friday, December 31, 1993 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation was held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born September 10, 1917, in Estherville, the son of Clayton and Fannie (Adolfs) Schenck and received his education in rural Emmet County schools. He remained single and lived his life in the Estherville area.

He served during World War II in the China-Burma Theater. After his return from the service, he farmed with his brother, Robert, for 10 years. He was then employed by Lowell Johnson Plastering for 30 years. He retired in 1982. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3388 of Estherville.

He is survived by his brother, Ellwood Schenck, of Estherville, two sisters, Lillian Stump of Estherville and Annie Bradshaw of Bull Shoals, Ark., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, a niece and a nephew. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 3, 1994)
