CAMPFIELD, Charles R.

MISSOULA – Former Thompson Falls businessman Charles R. Campfield, 62, of Missoula, died Friday, Sept. 20, 1996 at his home after a lengthy bout with cancer.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 22, at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula.

Mr. Campfield was born April 27, 1934 to Charles Milton and Corrine Campfield at Woodland, Missouri. He attended school there and at Palmyra, Missouri.

Charles and his wife, Shirley, founded Temp-Right Services in Missoula in 1977. After retiring in 1989, they decided retirement was ‘for the birds" and went back into business as B.T.U. Services in Thompson Falls on a part-time basis.

Charles loved his family. He also loved hunting, fishing, camping and his work. Spring and fall were for hunting, summer for boating and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and work was to fill all the other time. He was a ham radio operator and his call letters were N7QKJ.

Charles was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Everette M. and Joseph Edward Campfield.

Survivors include his mother, Corrine Campfield Coons; sisters, Ella Allen, Betty Nichols and Loretta Krause; and brothers, David Lee Campfield and Cecil V. Campfield. Also surviving are his wife, Shirley Schaller Campfield, of the family home in Missoula; Melody Reichle, husband, George, and their son, Zak; Charlene Campfield and daughter, Samantha; Jeffrey Campfield, wife, Karen, and their children, Candice and Deanna; Terri Green and her husband Allen Green; Lanette and her husband Jerry Coffey, and their children, Daun, Rebecca and great-grandson, David; Kenneth Campfield, wife Beverly, and their children, Christene, Nathan and Breanna; Chris Campfield, wife Mary, and their children, Falicia and Joshua; Cynthia Hunsacker, husband, Chris, and their daughter, Amber; D. Scott Campfield, wife, Diane, and their children, Douglas, Bobby and Vannessa; Cary Campfield, wife, Kathy, and their children, Mikki, Andrea and Ryan; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
