Maggie (Murphy) Morrison was born in Morning Sun, Louisa County, IA, on Sunday, July 25, 1858, the daughter of John Joseph and Margaret (Lynch) Murphy.

On Thursday, February 8, 1877, Maggie married James Francis Morrison in Melrose, Monroe County, IA.

Maggie was a Roman Catholic. In Monroe County he was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Church (Georgetown) and St. Patrick's Church (Melrose).
