Zarouhee immigrated from Sivas to Philadelphia with her parents in 1902. She married Serop Kapigian (Kapeghian) and had a daughter Araxie and a son Tsvak. Tsvak died as an infant in 1906 and Serop died the same year. The widowed Zarouhee married Hougas Torosian on October 20, 1907 at Twelfth Street Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With Hougas she had a daughter Margaret and a son Harry, who died young in a train accident. She lived out her life in Milwaukee and died at age 96.
