Ann was the daughter of Michael Ellen and Mary Hunt of Kent County, ENG. At 16 years of age, she married Levi Lambourn at Holy Cross Westgate Parish in Canterbury, on Jan. 26, 1830.

Twenty years later the Lambourns left England. Levi and 12-year old son Frederick arrived in New York harbor ahead of their family on Oct. 12, 1849, aboard the Guy Mannering. Seven months after, Anna left Liverpool with the remaining children aboard the Abby Land which docked in New York on May 7, 1850. During these dangerous crossings 21 out of 567 passengers died aboard Levi's ship whereas two infants among 210 passengers died on Anna's vessel. Fortunately the Lambourns Tambourins arrived safely.

Within a year of this voyage, Levi obtained a U. S. Gov't land patent from Edward Clegg on 160 acres in Evans Twp., Marshall County. Thereafter his fortune reversed. Nine year old David died August 30, 1851. In December Ann gave birth to Benjamin. The infant survived but she died within a month. Daughter Amey married Byard W. Wright the same December Benjamin was born, then she too died giving birth. Her daughter Anna survived.

Jane Lambourn was the eldest child of Levi and Ann. She must have stepped in to care for the household in place of her mother. Two years later on November 27, 1854, Jane married her former brother-in-law, Byard Wright. They raised Amey's daughter and had 10 children of their own.

On July 7, 1856, Levi married a second time to Mrs. Mary Doyle Deignan, an Irish immigrant. He was enumerated in the 1865 Illinois state census as a resident of nearby Bureau Co., IL, but thereafter disappeared. In the 1870 U. S. Census Mary Doyle was living with her sister in LaSalle Co. listed as a widow.

Levi and Ann's other children married over time. All but Frederick and Eliza remained in Illinois. Frederick moved to Los Angeles in 1859. He became foreman of the Workman Templeton Ranch and later co-owner of Lambourn & Turner, a Los Angeles based grocery business. Eliza migrated to the west coast and married George White of San Francisco in December, 1868. She and George lived in Sonoma, California.
