1907 Graduate of the Effingham District school and a 1911 graduate of A. C. H. S., receiving a teacher's certificate from the music department's piano course.
She and her husband were proprietors ofHargrove's City Market, Effingham and later managed a grocery store at Atchison. She was a member of the Maple Grove club. and the Effingham Happy Hour club.

Mrs. Robert L. Hargrove, 65, of Effingham, who had lived in an apartment at 212 Commercial since last November, died watching television in her home Friday night Although she had not been well for some time, her death was unexpected.
She was born Dec. 4, 1891, near Pardee, the 11th of the 13 children of T. F. and Nancy Hamner.
Mr. and Mrs. Hargrove were married a April 2, 1914, in Effingham at the home of her mother.
Surviving are her husband, a patient in a Topeka hospital; a son, Bobby Dick Hargrove, Effingham; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Freeland, Topeka; two brothers, Claude Hammer, Sacramento, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Jess Tucker, Effingham. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow at the Effingham Methodist church with the Rev. Howard Heading, pastor of the Christian church of Effingham officiating. Burial will be in the Effingham cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glen Nichols, Charles Hegarty, Guy McClanahan, John Clinton, Dwight Blasi and William Taliaferro.

Married At Effingham
Popular Couple to Live On Farm Near That Place
The marriage of Miss Edith Lavinia Hamner and Robert Lee Hargrove was solemnized Wednesday night at 7:30 at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Nannie Hamner in Effingham. Rev. Murphy of Effingham performed the marriage ceremony in the presence of sixty immediate relatives and close friends of the bridal couple.
While Miss Florence Hamner, cousin of the bride, played the Mendelssohn wedding march, the bridal couple, attended by Miss Elsie Hargrove, sister of the groom, and John Murray, advanced into the living room, where their marriage vows were made. The bride wore a beautiful gown of shadow lace, over white silk, and carried a bride's bouquet of white roses, The bridesmaid was becomingly attired in yellow crep-de-chene. The Hamner home was decorated in evergreen, ferns and cut flowers. After a 2-course wedding luncheon was served, the bridal couple left for a short wedding trip. The bride's going away suit was of tan wool serge, with a crepe-de-chene blouse and hat to match. They will be at home after April 15 on a farm owned by the groom's father, one mile east of Effingham.
The bride is very well known in Effingham where she has lived for several years. She is a graduate of the music department of the the A. C. H. S. and for the past two years has been attestant postmistress. She is an admirable young woman in every respect and has many friends in Effingham. The groom belongs to one of the best known families in the vicinity of Effingham and is young man of sterling qualities.
