Daughter of Thomas Franklin and Nancy Hamner. Thomas Franklin Hamner was born in Bucklin Co., Mo. [sic, Buchanan County, MO] Jun 27th, 1846 and died at his home near Pardee February 11th, 1910. He was married to Nancy A. Howard October 2nd, 1870, who survives him. To this union were born thirteen children, twelve of whom are still living, seven daughters and five sons, all of whom were present but one son, Frank who is in California. The daugthers are Mrs. Hattie Higley, Mrs. Ora Riley, Mrs. Maude Higley, Mrs. Jennie Niell, Mrs. Pearl Stucker of Pardee, Mrs. Lillie Delfelder of Effingham and Lavinia living at home. The sons are Alva Hamner living near home and Homer, Paul and Claude living at home, also Frank of California. He also leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Matilda Hamner of Atchison, three brothers and three sisters namely J. B. Hamner of Muscotah, Abraham and William P. Hamner of California, Mrs. Whiter of Colorado, Mrs. Peebler of Meriden and Mrs. Walters of Atchison. He also leaves 19 grandchildren.
