She was born March 12, 1923 at Hollenberg, Kansas, the daughter of Otto A. and Christena Klecan Lietzan. She was a graduate of Hollenberg High School and Venus Academy of Beauty Culture. A Dodge City resident since 1949, moving from Wichita she was a retired cosmetologist and worked part-time at George Nielsen Motor Company in Dodge City.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Legion of Mary Altar Society and Daughter of Isabella all in Dodge City as well as Al-Anon.
On April 27, 1946 she married Henry E. George at St. Mary's Cathedral in Wichita. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2009.
Survivors include: 4 sons, Ronnie and wife Linda, Albany, California, Pat and wife Lori, Dodge City, Bob, Dodge City and Charles and wife Laura, Coral Springs, Florida; her daughter, Mary Williams and husband Jim, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Thomas, Anna and Maris George and Matthew and Katie Williams.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Ann George, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 4:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Vigil Service will be 7:00 pm Thursday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at the church with Bishop John B. Brungardt, Bishop Ronald M. Gilmore and Fr. Ted A. Skalsky presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Thursday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
