Melinda Margaret Ziegler was the sixth of ten known children of Johann Daniel Ziegler (went by Daniel) (1784-1837) and Anna Maria (went by Mary) Rominger (1785-1872), who married 25 Mar 1809 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.

Margaret married Jeremiah Schneider/Snider (1813-1880) on 07 Jan 1866 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Margaert and Jeremiah were the parents of eight known children, namely:

1. Lewis M. Snider (1842-1908)
2. Solomon Snider (1843-1918)
3. Martin VanBuren Snider (1844-1919)
4. Sarah Snider (1847-1909)
5. Lydia Snider Philippe (1850-1883)
6. Rachel Snider Philippe Kelly (1853-1930)
7. Eli Snider (1856-1930)
8. Mary Snider Lawless (1859-1931)
