James Boocock was a well know and respected Preacher in the Shipley Circuit. He was one of the few who laid the the Foundation Stones of the Baildon Methodist Church. At the time of his death a collection was made for a memorial stone in "Jim's" honor. So much was collected that in addition to a fine marble tablet, they were also able to enlarge his gravestone in front of the Church and have it inscribed.
