Obituary

Lewis Henry Brown, Jr., 61, of 1722 Avenue I, died suddenly at 5:30 p. m. at the Katherine Kirchner farm, Augusta Road, where he had been working for the day.

Mr. Brown was born June 15, 1897, in Niota, Illinois , and had lived in Fort Madison for 35 years.

He was a car man for the Santa Fe Railroad.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church an d taught a boys Sunday school class for years.

On May 23, 1923, in Kahoka, Missouri, he married Jessie Florence Neyman, who survives.

He was preceded in death by a son, stepson and stepdaughter.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Fred Goltwald officiating.

Burial was at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa.

The body was at the Hall funeral home.

It was take n to the church at noon Thursday to lie in state until time of services.

Pallbearers were W. E. Prewitt, George Boyd, Richard Gaule, Arthur Huett, John Harvey and Robert Kirchner.
