Helen Lucy Rohrer of Waverly died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in her home. She was born in Waverly, the daughter of Oscar Allyn and Gertrude Lord Rohrer. Miss Rohrer earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. She taught in Springfield public schools for 20 years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Flying 99ers during World War II. She was a longtime member of Sgt. Caleb Hopkins Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors: a brother, Oscar Jonathan Rohrer of Petersburg; three sisters, Esther A. (husband, William L.) Miller of Rochester, Rosalee R. (husband, George T.) Preckwinkle of Springfield and Genevieve B. (husband, William K.) Horin of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Dr. Lonnie Lee officiating. Burial: Waverly East Cemetery.
