Was the son of Maurice and Nola Franklin. Fraternal twin to Charles Franklin and had another brother Alvin. He was married to Ruth Ruhl. They had no children. I once talked to him and his wife who were devote Seventh Day Adventist and his wife was in the kitchen and he asked me if I went to church and I said I go to a messianic jewish church o Saturdays and a Baptist church on Sundays. When his wife came in he told her I went to the jewish church on saturday and a heathen one on sundays. Both his wife and I stood quiet. I didn't care because he was my grandfathers twin and my granddad was outspoken, but his brother was quiet. Kinda thought his comment was funny. Funny how their grandparents and the other side of the family were adventists but my granddad married a methodist and didnt become one. I guess his parents not sending him to peabody art institute in Baltimore angered him his whole life. He was a great artist, but ended up painting for the govt. His parents favored his fraternal twin for what reason I dont know. They didnt have any children. My granddad had two daughters, and they were loved by their grandparents. I guess resentment can't carry on for life. My mom had some artwork of her fathers rolled up, but I think my stepfather did some cleaning and it got thrown out. That is why I am so glad I got tons of stuff from my granddads twin, since they had no kids when his wife and him died his wife's nieces cleaned out the house so anything that would have been franklin would have been thrown out since it wasnt their family. Glad I started at 15.
