Had fraternal twins Holmes Maurice and Charles Lucas Franklin born in August 1907. Was a painter. His parents moved to Ferndale Maryland because they were Seventh Day Adventists and were being persecuted in Carroll County Maryland around 1900. The plowed their gardens on Sunday and apparently angered neighbors since Sunday is the day of rest for Christians.

To this union were born three sons. He leaves to mourn two sons, Charles L. and Maurice Holmes; three grandchildren, Audrey, Charlotte and Alvin; one sister Agnes Franklin and one brother Edward G.
