Died as a result of a accident. He fractured the base of his skull at the Hilbert Junction depot when he fell from the platform.
He was born in Rhode Island 67 years ago, was the son of Cato Stanton, came to Chilton in 1843. He lived for a while in Marinette. He leaves one sister Mrs. Betsy O'Brien of Gravesville.

He was a soldier in the civil war in Company G, 14th Wisconsin Infantry.
Buried on February 15, 1902 in the Elydred Cemetery (Krebsbach Cemetery).
